March Mayhem!

March was quite a crazy month for Fur Your Convenience - we had just launched the website and had begun taking bookings, attending meet and greets and continuing with our training as well! It was also very busy in our household with not one, not two but three birthdays and a delivery of a beautiful litter of puppies also (so technically 11 birthdays?!).

The puppies

Arguably the most exciting thing to happen was the birth of 8 gorgeous border collie babies in our conservatory as Maya delivered her second and final litter. All 8 were super healthy and ate well and are now bouncing around in the garden, slowly finding their howling voices and knocking each other over. They love Auntie Custard and are constantly getting her into trouble for breaking into their puppy pen for a play session!

The birthdays

As well as the birth(days) of 8 new puppies into our home, Custard celebrated her first birthday on March 2nd, marking her becoming a true 'big girl' now - she refuses to believe it or act like it though! I also celebrated my own birthday on March 21st and Bailey celebrated her 10th birthday on March 30th. Being the fantastic dog parent I am, I obviously had to embarrass Bailey and Custard with silly pictures but lucky for me, they don't have opposable thumbs so couldn't do the same to me!

The courses

Myself and my business partner, best friend and mother, Michelle, were very lucky to be invited along to a Dog First Aid course ran by the amazing Rachael Fox RVN Cert Ed. This was hugely informative and helped us to put all of the knowledge we had learnt from online accredited courses into use by bandaging up dummy dogs safely, and taking pulses and checking for dehydration and capillary refill on the beautiful Jemima the German Shepherd. Huge thank you to Laura at Pawsitive Intentions Dog Training for organising such an amazing and invaluable event.

The pet drop ins

As well as arranging over 15 meet and greets (thank you all so much for sharing my posts and your own experiences to recommend us to so many amazing people), I had the pleasure of 'dropping in' on some beautiful furry friends. This began with the beautiful Rosie, a long haired rescue cat, desperate for play time, attention and obviously food! I then had a lovely weekend looking after a couple of playful bunnies who required, cleaning out, daily updates and some food and veggie nibbles!

The merch

Along with the launching of my website, blog and the production of some beautiful leaflets, business cards and loyalty cards, one of my best friends over at Berry and Bear printed some gorgeous t-shirts and hoodies for me and my coworkers to wear on meet and greets and drop-ins! The printing quality is absolutely fantastic and exactly what I envisioned! Her turnaround was so quick as well meaning I could start wearing my uniform almost immediately!

So as you can see, March was a pretty busy month for this little business and the people behind it.

Roll on April!
